After undergoing surgery on his arm for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Gary J. Cuttler, Metal Sculptor, decided to create this particular piece. He is considering creating a series of sculpture that he will preface as DIY. If he does, this piece will be renamed to DIY-Carpal Tunnel Surgery.
